Captain Kirk

Captain Kirk

13x12x4

Capt. Kirk is a young doe who is pretending to be a buck. She so wanted to be chosen for Santa's deer team and thought her disguise might just do the trick. Capt. Kirk loves to dance and run in circles under the full moon. Such a silly deer, our young doe might just be seen flying through the skies this holiday season. Please don't blow her cover.
Capt. Kirk by Betsy Youngquist is part of an ongoing series of found object masks celebrating the interconnected web of life on planet Earth. This mask was made using a wooden foundry form from Memphis, TN. These foundry forms were used to create sand casted molds in Memphis during the first half of the last century. Parts for trains, ships, and streetcars were manufactured through this process.
